Introducing:

The Work Skills Series –
The Job Search
The Interview
Success at Work
— is a resource for training English speakers, English Language Learners (ELL), and ESL students.
When I found myself in a classroom facing a group of refugee and immigrant students from all over the world, ranging in age from 16-70 with varying levels of English proficiency, I noticed that they all had one thing in common. They all needed to learn how to work in America! After much searching, I was unable to find any suitable curriculum to use with such a diverse group so I created the Work Skills Series to help the students to not just survive but also to thrive at work!
The Work Skills Series prepares students for all facets of the job search, the interview, and starting and retaining a new job. It introduces employment vocabulary and techniques that will engage fluent English speakers who are entering or re-entering the workforce as well as English Language Learners and ESL students who want to learn more about American work culture and employer expectations.
Set in e-book format that can be printed hundreds or thousands of times,* the three manuals have compelling units on Job Readiness, Job Search, Job Applications, Interview, Attire, Hygiene, Interview Questions and Thank You, Success at Work, and Job Benefits and incorporate useful reference materials, interesting student handouts, valuable tools, and engaging student activities. It has been endorsed by instructors using it for individualized tutoring and in the classroom setting. The lessons will hold your students’ attention.
Each unit is filled with work-related learning activities such as Vocabulary Fill-Ins, Sentences Completions, and Listening Review Exercises to promote comprehension.
